Salmon season

We met my dad at the Ballard Locks this week to see the salmon go up the fish ladder. Due to our small kitchen remodel (that's turning into a much larger project than anticipated!), we're trying to get out of the house as much as possible. I came across this great website that lists the best times and places to see the salmon, so I thought we would check it out.

Another great part about the locks is watching the boats go from Shilshole Bay into Lake Union. While we were there, they had opened the bridge to let some large sailboats through. We didn't stick around to watch them pass through the locks, but the kids were excited to see the different water levels, bridges, and big boats.
